HOW CAN I SUPPORT MY DYSLEXIC CHILD?

 Dyslexia Awareness Course for Parents with Children aged 6-13 years

 

This afternoon course will explain what dyslexia is, how it is assessed and look at issues facing parents and children with dyslexia.  It will also offer practical solutions to support whole families in the home and how to support their dyslexic child at school.The course will also focus on supporting the development of literacy skills........more information

Brainwaves Education Ltd is a specialist organisation offering a range of Assessment, Training and Consultancy Services for Dyslexia and Related Learning Differences, established 13 years ago by Jane Dupree, a qualified Specialist Teacher and accomplished Special Educational Needs Trainer.

 
Brainwaves Education Ltd is centrally located within the East Anglia region in Glemsford, West Suffolk and shares its workspace with sister organisation, The Dyslexia and Literacy Support Centre.  The Centre has its own on site parking and is easily accessible by car. Just 30 minutes south of Bury St Edmunds, 40 minutes north of Braintree, Essex and 1 hour away from Ipswich and Cambridge.  We are also only a 15 minute taxi ride from the nearest railway station at Sudbury in Suffolk.
 
 
 
The Centre was expanded in January 2010 to provide a bespoke conference room to host training courses provided by Brainwaves Education Ltd, and a meeting space for our popular Open Day which is held annually during Dyslexia Awareness Week.

  • Specialist Educational Assessments

Brainwaves Education Ltd is able to provide a wide range of Specialist Educational Assessments. Our assessments are all carried out by suitably qualified Specialist Teachers and Tutors who in additional either hold a Certificate of Competence in Educational Testing, or for DSA Assessments, our Specialist Teachers hold the SpLD Assessment Practising Certificate.

Our Assessment Service includes:

As a Specialist Education organisation with an established record of delivering effective and practical education support services, Jane Dupree, an experienced Training, Practitioner and Assessor is well placed to deliver an appropriate and effective CPD Training and Consultancy Service to the education sector, including:

      Study Skills Consultation - Specialist Support For Students in Secondary School and beyond. (Age 11 upwards)

                     

      Study Skills Support is one of Brainwaves Education Ltd Specialist areas, and as such is able to provide individualised Specialist Study Skills Support sessions for Students working from keystage 3 through to A level and beyondTypically a 2hour session with Jane Dupree booked as and when required.

       

      Specialist Study Skills Support can help all students in all stages of education and it is important to note that many students, not only those with Dyslexia and related Specific Learning Difficulties experience difficulties with Study Skills and Organisation as they make the transition from Year 9 to studying for external exams
